Child safety on VidyaCheck

VidyaCheck is built to help schools care for children. Protecting students — their safety, their data and their photographs — is fundamental to how the app works.

This page sets out VidyaCheck's child-safety standards, including our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).

Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation

VidyaCheck has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (“CSAE”) and child sexual abuse material (“CSAM”). Our Terms of Service strictly prohibit creating, uploading, storing or sharing any such content through the app. Where we become aware of such content or conduct, we will remove it, terminate the account responsible, and report it to the appropriate authorities as required by law.

How the app protects children by design

  • Closed, school-run environment. Accounts are provisioned by the school — there is no public sign-up, and there is no open, public feed where strangers can contact students.
  • No student-to-student or student-to-stranger messaging. The student role is read-only. Students can view their own timetable, homework, attendance and results, but cannot chat, post public content, or message other users.
  • Role-based access. A child's information — including photographs and the live bus location during a trip — is visible only to that child's authorised school staff and to the child's own parent/guardian.
  • Bus tracking is for safety. Live location reflects the position of the bus during an active trip so parents know their child is safe in transit. It is never used to profile or surveil a child, and never for advertising.
  • Data minimisation. We collect only what the school needs to operate, and we do not carry out behavioural tracking or targeted advertising directed at children.

Students are usually children (under 18). Schools using VidyaCheck are responsible for obtaining verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian before a child's personal data is processed, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. We handle children's personal data and photographs in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable child-protection laws, including the POCSO Act and the Information Technology Rules, 2021.

How to report a concern

If you have a child-safety concern about anything in the app:

  • In the app: use the Complaints feature to raise a concern (you can do so anonymously). Your school administrator receives and acts on it.
  • By email: contact our safety & grievance team at support@vidyacheck.in with the subject “Child safety concern”.
  • To report CSAE to the authorities in India, use the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal at cybercrime.gov.in, or contact the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR).
  • In an emergency, contact your local authorities, the national child helpline 1098 (Childline India), or emergency services on 112.

Safety & grievance contact: the Grievance Officer, Amigzo Technologies Private Limited — support@vidyacheck.in. We review reports promptly and act in line with our published standards and the law.
